Barry Boost at UCT
Barry Boost, philanthropist, fruitarian, all round good guy and jetsetter of note hopped on a plane to Cape Town when we received a call from the budding entrepreneurs at the University of Cape Town (UCT). The Mascot with the Mostest joined the very enthusiastic Team Entrée from the Genesis Project, a postgraduate enterprise management class who as part of the course had to create a start-up business by launching a new product. The Teams were tasked with creating opportunities to raise capital through various fundraising events on campus – one of which was the recent cake sale in the very popular Jamie Plaza in the heart of UCT. Competition was fierce as several teams all tried to make as much money as possible. “We knew that if we could find a brand to sponsor us that is extremely visual, health conscious and tasty, we would be able to make our competitors irrelevant – this is exactly what happened as Barry stole the show,” explains Nils Bang Team Entrée Captain when asked about their strategy. Team Entrée walked away the victors with the most profit raised and are adamant that they could not have done it without Barry Boost the iconic Mascot who entertained and attracted scores of ‘Ikeys’, as the UCT students are known, delighting them with his smooth moves and cool cajoling. Well done to Team Entrée - Boost is always happy to aid budding entrepreneurs in their quest to become the next Donald Trump!
